Roundabouts

Before entering a traffic circle, the driver must moderate speed and give way to vehicles approaching in a circle from the left.

ROUNDABOUTS

When entering the traffic circle and, if there is no lane change, when driving in the circle, the driver does not have to indicate the direction. Leaving the circle must be indicated

On traffic circles without lane subdivision, bicyclists may deviate from the requirement to drive on the right

The signal “traffic circle” indicates the direction that traffic must follow in the circle in the case of circular places

The direction of the road is indicated by dashes corresponding to the course of the lanes after the junction. In front of traffic circles, the “Pre-route sign at traffic circle” can be used

Correct behavior at traffic circles

Vehicles in the traffic circle always have the right of way over vehicles entering from the right. Therefore, before entering, the vehicle driver must slow down and make sure that no vehicle with the right of way is approaching. The turn signal does not have to be set.

Before leaving the traffic circle, the turn signal must be set to the right. This must not be done too early so that entering vehicle drivers are not irritated and turn too early.

Two-wheelers are to be given special attention in the traffic circle and are not to be overtaken if possible. Any lane changes in the traffic circle must be indicated by signalling.

When entering and especially when leaving the roundabout, pedestrians must be watched out for and given the right of way on pedestrian crossings.
