Crossing

Cross on the right.

Keep a sufficient distance from all road users, especially when crossing and overtaking as well as when driving side by side and behind each other.

The driver must give way to oncoming traffic if the crossing is made difficult by an obstacle on his side of the road.

CROSSING

If crossing is not possible on a narrow road, trailer trucks have the right of way over other vehicles, heavy motor vehicles over light ones and company cars over trucks. Among vehicles of the same type, the one that is closer to a passing place must drive back.

On steep roads and mountain roads, if vehicles of the same type cannot cross, the one going downhill must drive back, unless the other is near a passing place.

On mountain roads, in case of difficult crossing and overtaking, drivers must observe the signs and instructions of drivers of vehicles in regular traffic.

Drivers must maintain a lateral distance of at least 1 m when crossing and overtaking tracked vehicles.

The signal “Give way to oncoming traffic” obliges the driver driving in the direction of the red arrow to give way to oncoming traffic when the road narrows. The obligation to wait does not apply to single-track vehicles whose drivers can see that the narrowed lane allows them to cross without danger. At the other end of the narrowing is the signal
“Give way to oncoming traffic”.

The signal “Give way to oncoming traffic” indicates to the driver driving in the direction of the white arrow in narrowed lanes that he may continue driving and that oncoming multi-lane vehicles must wait. If they are already in the narrowing, he must wait.
