Wearing seat belts

In passenger cars, vans, minibuses and light semitrailers, the driver and passengers must wear the existing seat belts while driving.

Children under the age of seven must be secured in seats next to the driver with an ECE-approved child restraint device or another child restraint device (e.g. child seat) approved by the Swiss Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications. Children from seven to twelve years of age must be secured in all seats with such a device or the existing seat belts; if more

Children of this age are carried in the seats behind the driver than there are seats authorized, at least as many must be secured as there are safety belts.
