Operating the vehicle

The driver must be in control of the vehicle at all times in such a way that he can fulfil his duties of caution.

The driver must ensure that he is not hindered by the load or in any other way. Passengers must not obstruct or disturb him.

The driver must turn his attention to the road and the traffic. When driving, the driver must not carry out any activity that makes it difficult to operate the vehicle (e.g. using the telephone without a hands-free device). Furthermore, he must ensure that his attention is not impaired by radio or other sound reproduction devices.

Drivers of motor vehicles, motorbikes and bicycles must not let go of the steering device, and cyclists must not let go of the pedals.
