Towing

Towing Regulations

  • Towing Poles: Must be no longer than 5 meters.
  • Towing Ropes: Must be no longer than 8 meters. The rope should be clearly marked in the middle.
  • Prohibitions:
    • Chains cannot be used.
    • Metallic ropes are not allowed for motorbikes.

These rules help ensure safe towing practices on the road.

Towing Regulations for Motorbikes

  • Condition for Towing: Motorbikes may only be towed if they are broken down. The driver must be able to release the rope immediately if needed.
  • Maximum Speed: The speed limit for towing vehicles (including using a towing trolley or semi-mounted) is 40 km/h.
  • Breakdown Signal: A breakdown signal must be attached to the rear of towed vehicles.
  • Motorway Rules: On motorways, broken-down vehicles may only be towed to the next exit. The right-hand lane must be used, not the emergency lane.

These regulations ensure safety for both the driver and other road users during towing operations.
