Swiss Priority Signs

Priority signs regulate the right of way at junctions and intersections. They determine who must wait and who has priority. Switzerland has 10 priority signs in accordance with the SSV. Recognising and obeying them prevents collisions at junctions.

Stop (Art. 36)
Nr. 3.01 Stop (Art. 36) Requires a complete stop before the stop line.
Give Way (Art. 36)
Nr. 3.02 Give Way (Art. 36) The inverted triangle: give way. In roundabouts: vehicles already inside have priority.
Main Road (Art. 37)
Nr. 3.03 Main Road (Art. 37) The yellow diamond marks a priority road. Right-of-way rule does not apply.
End of Main Road (Art. 38)
Nr. 3.04 End of Main Road (Art. 38) Marks the end of right of way. Right-of-way rule applies again.
