markings

You come across road signs and markings all the time. You should recognise these basic types at a glance.

Sign types by shape

Round signs = mandatory or prohibited (e.g. no entry).

Triangular signs = danger/warning (e.g. intersection ahead).

Yellow diamond = main road (you have priority).

→

White lane-selection arrows on the road: you may only go in the direction of the arrow.

→

Yellow lines / “BUS”: bus lane – only cross it where the line is broken.

Tip: Shape = function: round = mandatory/prohibited, triangle = danger, yellow diamond = priority.
